Opposition fighters launched on Wednesday night a sudden swift attack resulted in recapturing al-Zewayrat Hill in Latakia northern countryside’s al-Akrad Mountain from the hands of Assad terrorists and his foreign mercenaries, Orient News correspondent said.
After hours of heavy clashes, opposition fighters killed tens of Assad terrorists. They also took control of al-Zewayrat Hill, Sham news agency reported and added the clashes were still ongoing on the axis of Kabiyna.
In an attempt to stop the opposition’s progress in the area, Assad regime’s helicopters conducted air attacks with vacuum missiles and barrel bombs. The attacks caused big fires in the jungles and forests, according to eye witnesses.
It is worthy to note that allied opposition fighters launched last month the Yarmouk Battle to recapture all lost-to Assad areas in Latakia northern countryside. The First Coastal Division is among the main opposition fighting groups there.
